The Asian Turtle Program's thirteenth tortoise and freshwater turtle field skills development training course

The Asian Turtle Program (ATP) of Indo-Myanmar Conservation (IMC) would like to announce the opportunity to participate in the thirteenth Tortoise and Freshwater Turtle Field Skills Training Course. The course will be hosted by the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) in collaboration with the Turtle Conservation Centre (TCC) Cuc Phuong National Park.

Course’s participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the identification and conservation status of endangered tortoises and freshwater turtles in Vietnam;
  • Understand more about the biology, behavior and ecology of tortoises and freshwater turtles;
  • Obtain new research skills for field work including surveying, handling animals and data collection on tortoise and freshwater turtle species;

Participants will also be given the opportunity to complete a short research project (two to three weeks) during 2017 following the training course.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Course date: 11th – 18th  March 2017
Course duration: 8 days
Location: Cuc Phuong National Park, Nho Quan District, Ninh Binh Province

WHO CAN APPLY?

Age requirement: 18 – 30

We strongly encourage applications from Laotian students enrolled at Vietnamese Universities, Vietnamese students, young national biologists, rangers and conservationists.

COURSE FEE

The total cost is 6.500.000VND / participant. The Asian Turtle Program (ATP) will offer a number of full scholarships and partial scholarships (limited). Please clearly indicate in the application if you are able to cover your own costs or applying for a scholarship.

Above total cost included tuition, food, accommodation and travel for whole course.
