Hatchling hat trick at
the Turtle Conservation Centre, Vietnam

As spring comes to an end the Turtle Conservation Centre (TCC) in Cuc Phuong National Park, Northern Vietnam, April has seen the last of its winter nesters hatching out. Every autumn and winter the centre has three species that nest, the endangered Elongated Tortoise (Indotestudo elongata) and Yellow-headed Turtle (Heosemys annandalii) and vulnerable Orange Headed Temple Turtle (Heosemys grandis). These are the only three species we have incubating over winter and hatching out in the spring. In the past we have undertaken releases of some of these hatchlings in Cat Tien National Park, in southern Vietnam.

The incubator is now starting to fill up with the spring and summer nesters and we expect to be running out of room very soon. If you would like to sponsor another incubator or an air conditioning unit we need to hatch out some of our critical species and keep some of the sensitive hatchlings cool throughout the hot summer months.

If you would like to support what we do please make donation at this link http://www.asianturtleprogram.org/pages/support_atp.html
